As part of the research project, an autonomous power supply was set up for 3 local communities and over 1,000 private households. The microgrid consisted of 185 photovoltaic systems, to hydroelectric power plants and a biogas plant. The LINDA concept is to be used primarily for the supply of emergency backup power for critical infrastructures, such as hospitals or drinking water supply systems. On the basis of the LINDA concept, they can be supplied with power from an islanded grid that is not connected to the national grid.
